Support My Trip To Seattle To Be A Missionary!
You heard correctly.
I’ve been led to travel to Seattle, Washington to be an urban missionary from September through July of next year.
Hello friends, family, coworkers & other loyal supporters.
I’m thrilled to announce I have been accepted into the ServeSeattle Program for September 2014 through July of 2015. This is a residential urban missions institute underneath the umbrella organization “Seattle Gospel Union”.
Together with other young adults, I’ll be living in community for a year; learning about complex social justice issues facing the city & finding ways to address them; growing in my faith through discipleship activities, worship and prayer services, bible study and small groups; & serving in full-time urban ministry internships where I will be meeting the needs of the city & sharing the gospel. (Oh, and of course I will have the incredible opportunity to be in a new environment filled with gorgeous demonstrations of God’s creation, a stellar music industry, & so much more- going WAY OUT of my comfort zone!).
I have already raised $650. I have just written up personal letters that tell of the trip, why I am going, what I will be doing, fundraising details, etc. If you would like me to mail you one, whether you’re interested in donating or not, just let me know. I would be more than happy to.
