we wait in eager expectation, creation subject to frustration.
filled with hope of the covenant, patiently standing firm to be saved.
trusting the angels will someday gather us, the saints + elect: His most prized possession.
what a miraculous God we worship, can’t be defeated for the Victor already stands.
children of a King; gentle and conquering.
You project your truth in front of us, the Word in which we praise, a lamp unto our path.
we weep. now but only now. we weep in joy. we weep in godly sorrow. we weep because You instill within us Your great compassion.
what we witness in this world is but a fraction. a fragmented lens of the scope of Your glorious love.
the dead will resurrect, the chariots of fire will come. we’ll stand and watch as the old order is done away with.
we’ll spectate the work of Your hands as the heavens and earth pass away.
like our redeemed souls purified, what was is but a remnant of the past. the new creation has come; a remnant securely saved.
your Word O Lord is all that does not perish. it doesn’t burn like the chaff of the wicked.
it is the rising dawn before us, and the setting dusk ahead.
we stand in the gap between alpha + omega. simple specks on the spectrum of eternity.
you O God fill this gap completely with the holy aroma of Your spirit. thus, we stand with you in the gap with abounding confidence. surely, our cup does overflow in saving faith.
we, the chosen, choose falsely and wisely to our own detriment. still, you are God. unchanging in faithfulness. relentless in saving the lost. working out all things according to Your purpose for the good of those who love you. our detriment mysteriously destined to bring you glory.
to unchoose us would contradict Your promise. surely it is You and You alone who never lets go; keeping our feet from stumbling.
we are forevermore delivered. forevermore bathed in grace. no place to withdraw where Your presence cannot manifest.
forevermore You are our heartbeat. forevermore the source of breath. forevermore the One who extinguished darkness.
and if history proves anything, it is that Your power proves more mighty than all else beneath; especially in the darkest hour.
let all who hear, hear this. as it was once said, ‘hear O Israel’. Ephphatha! may every ear be opened.
the Lord is our Light + Salvation. whom then shall we fear?
all who call upon the Lord will be saved. repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.
